Final Report

Consumer Affairs Australian and New Zealand provided consumer affairs ministers, through the Legislative and Governance Forum on Consumer Affairs, with the Australian Consumer Law Review Final Report [1.2MB PDF | 1.1MB DOCX] in March 2017.

The report was informed by submissions to the Interim Report and Issues Paper as well as comments received through this website. It identified a package of reforms to strengthen and clarify the law, help consumers and traders better understand their rights and obligations, improve outcomes across Australian markets and help future-proof the ACL.

Consumer affairs ministers will consider the report in the second half of 2017.
